WHY SHOULD I WORSHIP
TEXT: Isaiah 6:1-8
In our text today we find the prophet Isaiah experiencing a vision of God in the Temple. And from his personal experience we can learn the answer to our question,
“Why Should I Worship?”
“Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth…”
COAL spells out the process of the worship experience.
COME
Because I have come into the presence of a holy ________________
Looking into heaven Isaiah saw that the Lord was being worshiped: "I saw the Lord…seated on the throne, high and exalted." (Is. 6:1)
- Do you see God today high and exalted?
- Do you see His robe filling our Temple?
- Do you see God’s love, power, and knowledge present among us and in your own life?
When we truly see God, the question isn’t so much “Why should I worship?” but “How could I not worship a God like this?”
Because I have _____________ and fallen short of God’s ____________
How important it is that we realize our shortcomings and our sins.
Once a person really beholds God, that person will have to repent as Isaiah did.
"Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips” (Is. 6:5)

Seeing God, and confessing his sins, Isaiah experienced the forgiveness of the Almighty. Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for." (Is. 6:6-7)
"Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord.” "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.– Is. 1:18

Isaiah hears the voice of God saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" (Is. 6:8)

“Enter to worship, depart to serve.”
