WHAT WIVES WISHED THEIR HUSBANDS KNEW
Text: Judges 13-16
When we hear the names “Samson and Delilah” - we automatically think of romance... The world’s strongest man was however, truly the world’s weakest lover.
INTO THE STORY
- Angel appears to Manoah’s wife to tell her they would have a son.
- Samson was to be raised a Nazarite... (No strong drink, no razor to his head, restricted diet)
- Samson is born; he grows in the Lord, and the Spirit begins to stir him
- Physically, he has this incredible strength from the Lord...
- But his character is flawed
- Judges 14:2 “When he returned, he said to his father and mother, “I have seen a Philistine woman in Timnah; now get her for me as my wife.”
ADVICE TO THE UNMARRIED
- Young single ladies - If you are looking for a good husband - one that will treat you right - watch how he treats his parents
- Young/single men - Fall in love with the ideal marriage before you fall in love with the ideal partner.
- What does marriage look like??? “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” (Eph. 5:25)
- A working marriage begins with unconditional love...

God didn’t give Samson a 2nd chance in romance - he gave him one in character...
