WHEN OPPORTUNITY KNOCKSwww.opportunity.god
"Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut..."
(Rev. 3:8)
The key word I would like you to consider with me this morning is the word, "Opportunity" This letter is written to a church on the leading edge of a period of tremendous God-given opportunity. Christian, I would ask you, what opportunities might God be opening in your life right now?
The Bible talks about opportunities that count...
The Door of SALVATION:
The Door of INTIMACY
The Door of OPPORTUNITY
Three reasons why God might send an opportunity your way . . .
This is the path to get opportunity, the address at which we could find it -
www.opportunity.god You need the www before you can get the opportunity.
1) WEAKNESS
- Why do you think God choose to open the doors to a weak and small church?
- The door of opportunity will be opened when we are relying totally on him
"Not by might not by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts"
(Zech 4:6)2) WORD WISE
- The time God chooses to open the door will be when we are in the word.
3) WITHOUT WAVERING
- No matter what they were faced with, they refused to give up on their faith.
I want to ask you today whether you have a door of opportunity open for you? If you do, are you making the most of every opportunity?
Often opportunity and opposition go hand in hand so God gave the Philadelphian church 4 specific words of comfort.
What are the promises that He gives us?
• Our enemies will be humbled,
• We’ll be kept from tribulation
• We will be strengthened and made secure.
• We’ll be given a new name
Perhaps Jesus has an open door for you.
Do you have the faith in Him to step through it?
: Paul says: "and pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains". (Colossians 4:3): Jesus says: "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20) In John 10:29, Jesus said: (John 10:9) "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. He will come in and go out, and find pasture."
