IS THERE A MOUSE IN YOUR HOUSE?

TEXT: GENESIS 1:27 - 28; 2:18, 24-25;

Jesus also has a wish list for the family. He loves the family to the degree that he modeled his relationship with the church after a marriage. (Eph. 5:25; Rev. 21:2) We would rather have a mouse in our house than to face the fact that our homes and families are not all they could be.  There are 4 mice we need face with courage and strength.  There are four questions we need to answer for our families to reach Christ’s expectation.

MICE ACCROSTIC

M – (Jesus says) “More of Me – Less of You”

Question: Is Christ the center of your family

God says, I want the world to see more of me and less of you.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (Gen. 1:27)

A family has a personality that should reflect God’s _____________________

Most of us would rather be the family sitting in the pew at church rather than the family in the car on the way to church? Little impact will the family in the pew have. Great impact will the family on the way to church have.

...continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,  for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. (Phil. 2:12b-13)

I - INTIMACY

Question: Are you really loving your spouse like you could?

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh   (Gen. 2:24-25)

E – EVANGELISM

The real goal of marriage is not to have a good marriage or have children

The real goal of marriage of marriage is to have a marriage that reveals something about God to this world and reveals something about God to one another.
